The main tasks of the department are:

• implementation of a unified USPTU policy in the field of patent and licensing activities;
• information and consulting support for the creation of industrial property objects, computer programs and databases of the University;
• assistance in the conduct of patent research in the course, diploma design, the implementation of research, development, dissertation work;
• assistance in the process of teaching students, undergraduates, graduate students, doctoral students and employees of USPTU the basics of legal protection of industrial property objects, computer programs and databases;
• assistance in information and consulting support for licensing various activities of the University;
• assistance to organizational, methodological and informational support for certification, accreditation of USPTU and its structural divisions.
